Erdoğan: Turkic Countries Are in Close Cooperation
President Erdoğan emphasized the shared determination to leave a mark on the current century in the name of the Turkic world during his meeting with his Uzbek counterpart.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, speaking at a joint press conference with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a two-day official visit to Ankara, stated: “Turkic countries are in close cooperation.”
The meeting between the two leaders began with an official welcoming ceremony at Esenboğa Airport and continued at the Presidential Complex in Beştepe. In addition to bilateral relations, regional and global developments were also discussed during the talks.
At the joint press conference, Erdoğan stressed: “We have tripled our bilateral trade volume with Uzbekistan over the past ten years. I believe we will soon reach our new target of 5 billion dollars. We have identified forward-looking strategic steps with Uzbekistan, and the institutions of both countries are cooperating to achieve all our shared goals.”
He added: “With unity of hearts, and with God’s help, we are confident that we will leave the mark of the Turkic world on this century. Not only are our hearts and language one, but our pain, sorrow, and suffering are also shared.”
The Turkish president also noted: “Uzbekistan was one of the first countries to come to our aid after the February 6 earthquake, in which we lost more than 53,000 of our citizens. It also took a principled stance regarding Israel’s attacks on Gaza, for which I sincerely commend the people of Uzbekistan.”
“We will move forward with firm steps toward the goal of unity in language, thought, and action, and we are determined to make the necessary contribution to the prosperity of our ancestral homeland, Central Asia.”
President of Uzbekistan: Turkey Is Becoming a New Global Geopolitical Hub
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the joint press conference with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, stated: “Turkey is truly becoming one of the new centers of geopolitical power in the world.”
After their bilateral talks, Mirziyoyev highlighted Turkey’s achievements, saying that the country is increasing its influence day by day not only in the Islamic world but also globally across all fields, achieving significant successes.
He added that the strategic program “Century of Turkey” is being implemented systematically and that Ankara’s voice is resonating more strongly on the international stage.
Stating that these developments bring happiness to his country, the Uzbek president congratulated Turkey on behalf of the people of Uzbekistan and himself for these accomplishments.
